What we cover

House rewires

At worst, faulty electrics can be a serious fire hazard and can lead to injury or electrocution. This is why electrics were brought in to the building regulations under Part P. Existing wiring installations are not covered, but if you make significant alterations or new additions to the wiring in your home, the regulations come into force.

Fusebaord Upgrades

At PHC we are able to update old Fuse Boards, to modern day RCD protected Consumer Units. Old fuses that incorporate fuse wire can take up to 5 seconds to disconnect, if at all. When an electrical fault (or someone getting an electric shock) occurs, RCD protected Consumer Units will detect faults in the wiring that previously went undetected and will trip out in 0.5 seconds should a fault occur.

Condition Reports

All electrical installations deteriorate with age and use. They should therefore be inspected and tested at regular intervals to check whether they are in a satisfactory condition for continued use. Such safety checks are commonly referred to as ‘periodic inspection and testing’. Once completed you will be issued with an Electrical Condition Report (EICR).

Detector Installs

Is your home equipped to alert you if there is smoke or carbon monoxide (CO)? Some people will say yes, but to what extent? Prevention is key when it comes to protecting you and your family from house fires and CO poisoning. In order to prevent these two things, it’s crucial to have proper placement, and follow safety regulations when owning smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors. That is why It’s important that these devices are installed by a licensed electrician.
